Bountiful Baskets

The last two weeks I have participated in the Bountiful Basket.  What is the Bountiful Basket?  It’s a group of volunteers that put together baskets of produce, fruit and veggies for a pretty reasonable price.  You get a full basket for $15 or you can upgrade to organic for $25.

My basket had a mixture of things, from bell peppers, blueberries and plantains.  The produce is local or from the US, nothing is from out of the country.  You’re getting what’s in season.  You do get a lot of bang for you buck so it may be a thing that I do every other week.  I got the tropical pack and got vanilla beans, coconuts, mangos, pineapple, fresh mint and a few other things.  I like it because it’s making me be a little more creative in the kitchen.  I have yet to use my vanilla beans or coconuts but hoping to find an amazing recipe to use them for!

You can choose a location near you to pick up your produce as well.  Bring your basket so they can load it all up for you and your set to go!  Check it out!
