Protein Balls

 

 This is a recipe that one of my friends makes and always has after a good run.  These are so easy to take on the go with an apple or a banana.  Easy to make and easy to take, how much easier could it be! 

6 Tbsp  vanilla or chocolate protein powder
 
3 Tbsp shredded unsweetened coconut
 
3 Tbsp  ground flaxseed
 
Pinch of sea salt
 
Pinch of cinnamon
 
6 Tbsp-7 Tbsp of almond/peanut butter (runny nut butter works best)
 
3 Tbsp  pure maple syrup, honey, brown rice syrup, agave
 
  1. Mix first 5 ingredients together, then add in the nut butter and maple syrup.
  2. Form into 12 balls
  3. And put in fridge to let them sit for a little bit.  When I make things like this I usually like to keep them in fridge and take out about 5 minutes before eating.

You can be creative with this one, add nuts, raisins, dried fruit.  Make it your own.
